- •Patients weighing more than 30 kgs.

- •Patients undergoing emergency cardiac surgery.
- •Oesophageal bleed or varices.
- •Oesophageal stricture.
- •Patients who have had prior injury/surgical interventions of the oesophagus.
- •Patients with cervical spine injury.
- •Unwilling to participate in the study.
