Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • RHD patients with symptomatic long standing persistent atrial fibrillation in the age group of \>\= 18years with LA diameter of more than 4\.5 cm in heart failure with NYHA functional class \>\= II, despite optimal medical therapy will be included in the study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\-Severe valvular lesions requiring surgery or intervention
  • 2\- Significant Coronary artery disease
  • 3\-Ongoing infection
  • 4\-Pregnancy
  • 5\-Severe co\-morbidies limiting life expectancy
  • 6\-Untreated hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism
  • 7\-Mental or physical inability to participate in the study
