- •All adult patients ( >18 years) on mechanical ventilation having moderate to severe ARDS, will be considered for inclusion in the study

- •1.Age <18 years or > 65 years
- •2.Suspected or confirmed head injury
- •3.Increased intracranial pressure
- •4.Acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema
- •5.Acute coronary syndrome
- •6.Arrhythmias
- •7.Left ventricular dysfunction
- •8.Abdominal compartment syndrome
- •9.Rib fracture
- •10.Pneumothorax or pneumomediastinum
- •11.Pregnancy
