Development of the hypoglycemia in critical illness risk assessment form

Conditions
Hypoglycemia is prevalent among critically ill patients and often leads to various negative consequences including prolonging ICU stay, increasing cost of care and mortality rate. Serial capillary blood glucose commonly is used to monitor hypoglycemia but it fails to prevent the event from developing. A screening tool that identifies individualized risk scores will be helpful in preventing hypoglycemia episodes with appropriate intervention for high-risk patients.
