Interviews with patients:
- Advanced chronic heart failure
- Experience with thirst in the context of the disease
- At least T-listing due to advanced chronic heart failure
- = 18 years
- Hospital stay
- Signed informed consent (provided by legal guardian, if applicable)

Focus groups with nursing professionals
- Nursing professionals with completed three years of nursing training or have a university degree
- Professional experience in the nursing care of adult inpatients on the waiting list for a heart transplantation
- Signed informed consent
Survey with nurses
- Nurses who have completed three years of nursing education or have a university degree
- Professional experience in the nursing care of adult patients with advanced chronic heart failure who are scheduled for heart transplantation.
- Occupation in direct patient care
Interviews with patients:
- Implanted (L-) VAD system
- Disorientation to one of the four qualities (place, time, person, situation)
