- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Social closeness is the primary criterion of this study. The construct is assessed via the Inclusion of the Other in the Self-Scale as a pictorial 1-Item scale (Aron, Aron, & Smollan, 1992; Gächter, Starmer, & Tufano, 2015). Participants choose from non-overlapping to more and more overlapping circles that figure that mirrors their current feeling of social closeness best. The IOS-Scale correlates highly with other scales for assessing closeness in relationships and was regarded as a meaningful as well as reliable psychological measure.

The scale is given to participants before the negative mood induction (t1) to assess the baseline value, after the negative mood induction (t2) and after the meditation (t3) in order to assess changes in the current feeling of social closeness.
