Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Adult patients between the age of 18 to 60 years of age scheduled to undergo elective lower limb surgery under spinal anaesthesia.
  • 2\.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II.
  • 3\.Anticipated duration of surgery 1\-2 hours.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia or previous failed spinal anaesthesia.
  • 2\.History of long\-standing diabetes mellitus, cardiac or neurological disease.
  • 3\.Patients with a hypersensitivity to soybean/egg.
  • 4\.H/o neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • 5\.Kidney or liver failure.
  • 6\.Chronic treatment with opioids/sedatives.
  • 7\.Pregnant/ lactating women.
  • 8\.Obesity (BMI \> 30 kg. m\-2\).
  • 9\.Anticipated difficult airway.
