Inclusion Criteria
established polyphasic sleep behaviour in the majority of the weekdays with daytime sleep phases in addition to the nighttime sleep
Exclusion Criteria
monophasic sleep pattern, shift work, sleep-wake rhythm disorder, insomnia, neurological diseases, thyroid hormones imbalance

Name Time Method The aim of this study is the complete polysomnographic recording of night- and daytime sleep phases during diagnostic investigations in patients admitted for the first time to the sleep laboratory with the suspect of having sleep apnoea. This is a prerequisite for the comparison of quantitative sleep parameters between nighttime and daytime sleep and for the severity of a possible wrong assessment of sleep quality when only the the nighttime sleep is taken into account as it is done in sleep laboratory standard routine.
