简要总结

The study is intended to compare intermittent versus continuous phototherapy in treatment of neonatal non-haemolytic hyperbilirubinemia. Jaundiced babies are randomised in two arms,in Intermittent group ,phototherapy is given for 3 hours on and 3 hours off.In continuous arm,phototherapy is given continuously interrupted only for feeding and cleaning.

入选标准

  • All neonates with gestational age more than or equal to 35 weeks with non hemolytic hyperbilirubinemia.

排除标准

  • Hemolytic anemia Babies who are having congenital abnormalities Prematurity Birth asphyxia Assisted delivery Direct hyperbilirubinemia Onset of jaundice within first 24 hours of life Babies who are on ventilator Parents who are not willing.

主要结局

Measure rate of fall of bilirubin in two groups

时间窗: At baseline,at end of study

次要结局

  • Compare duration of hospital stay among the groups(Six months)
