- •HbA1c greater than 6.9% or 51 mmol/mol
- •Anticipated to remain in ICU for 48 hours or greater

- •HbA1c less than 6.9%
- •Type-1 diabetes.
- •Expected to die within 48 hours
- •Not expected to stay for at least 48 hours
- •Readmission to IC
