Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •admitted to KMC hospitals recovering from a recent
- •episode of acute exacerbation of COPD. All of them
- •had Clinical diagnosis of COPD, based on expiratory
- •airflow limitation evidenced by forced expiratory
- •volume 1 second/forced vital capacity percent
- •(FEV1/FVC%) less than 70 and FEV1% predicted
- •less than 80\.16 Self\-report of shortness of breath at
- •rest. At the time of recruitment patients were in stable
- •condition as assessed by stability of blood gas values
- •and hemodynamics. None of the subjects were on
