简要总结

Overhead athletes frequently perform repetitive throwing motions, which will increase the risk of shoulder injuries, particularly in the presence of Glenohumeral Internal Rotation Deficit (GIRD). GIRD will result in reduced internal rotation and altered joint mechanics, contributing to instability and overuse injuries.

Proprioception will play a crucial role in dynamic shoulder stability and throwing performance, yet it will remain underemphasized in upper-limb rehabilitation. This study will evaluate the effect of proprioceptive training on throwing performance in overhead athletes with shoulder internal rotation deficits, addressing a gap in current research.

  • Presence of radicular pain originating from the cervical spine.

结局指标

主要结局

Functional Throwing Performance Index

时间窗: The functional ability of the shoulder joint will be assessed using the Functional Throwing Performance Index (FTPI). The subject will stand 4.57 meters away from a 30.48 x 30.48 cm target marked on a wall at a height of 1.22 meters from the floor. The athlete will be instructed to throw a rubber playground ball into the target as many times as possible during a 30-second trial. | Before testing, each subject will perform 8 warm-up throws. The test will begin immediately after the warm-up, with the subject repeatedly throwing the ball into the target, catching the rebound from the wall, and continuing for 30 seconds. | The FTPI will be calculated as: | FTPI = (Number of accurate throws within the target) / (Total number of throws). | To ensure consistency, the same examiner will determine the accuracy of all throws.

次要结局
