简要总结

This is randomised control trial aims to evaluate and compare the effects of the Buteyko breathing technique and routine physiotherapy on pulmonary functions, functional capacity and chest expansion in breast cancer survivors. Breast cancer and its treatments often cause respiratory limitations, fatigue and reduced quality of life due to chest wall restriction and decreased lung volumes. the Buteyko breathing technique which focuses on nasal breathing, controlled breath holding and reduced respiratory rate, may help improve ventilation efficiency and overall well-being . Thirty female breast cancer survivors will be randomly divided into two groups. Group A will receive BBT and group B will receive Routine Physiotherapy, each for 15-20 minutes, three times a week for four weeks. Pulmonary function (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC), Functional capacity (6-Minute walk test) and Chest expansion will be measured before and after intervention. The study is expected to demonstrate that BBT offers greater improvements in respiratory function and exercise tolerance , providing a simple, cost effective and non-invasive approach to enhance rehabilitation outcomes in breast cancer survivors.

入选标准

  • Diagnosed cases of breast cancer of at least one year duration in individuals aged 30-75 years with an eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status score of less than 2.

排除标准

  • Brain metastasis, Communication and psychological problems.
