DISC-3405 (9MW3011/MWTX-003) is an investigational monoclonal antibody that binds TMPRSS6 (Transmembrane Serine Protease 6, also known as Matriptase-2). TMPRSS6 limits hepcidin production through inhibition of hemojuvelin (HJV); by inhibiting TMPRSS6, the antibody is designed to induce endogenous hepcidin expression, which in turn reduces serum iron availability.
