Eflapegrastim is a recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (rhG-CSF). Like endogenous G-CSF, eflapegrastim binds to G-CSF receptors on myeloid progenitor cells and neutrophils - this triggers signaling pathways that result in neutrophil differentiation, proliferation, migration, and survival.
Eflapegrastim is indicated to decrease the incidence of infection, as manifested by febrile neutropenia, in adult patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia.
