Lacripep is an investigational ophthalmic therapeutic for the treatment of neurotrophic keratitis (NK), a rare degenerative corneal disease characterized by reduced or absent corneal sensitivity and severely impaired corneal healing, which can lead to persistent epithelial defects and vision loss. The FDA has granted Lacripep both Orphan Drug Designation and Fast Track Designation for this indication. A Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT07568730) is currently underway evaluating Lacripep in patients with Stage 1 NK.
