Potravitug is being investigated for the treatment of BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) infection in kidney transplant recipients. BKPyV reactivates in up to 50% of kidney transplant patients, and up to 70% of those with BKPyV viremia develop BKPyV nephropathy (BKPyVAN), which significantly increases the risks of kidney loss and patient death. No approved therapies are currently available for this indication.
