Overview

R673 is a novel NK1 antagonist that penetrates the blood-brain barrier, has excellent safety and tolerability and shows low P450-based drug interaction potential. The phase II program for treatment of depression and anxiety is ongoing in the US and EU.It is not clear how tachykinin antagonists exert their effect, but SP levels have been commonly linked to the functioning of limbic system with respect to anxiety and depression.
