CWR expands clinical trials to tackle high disease burden in Nigeria, others

Cures Within Reach (CWR) extends partnership with Open Philanthropy to fund 16 clinical trials in low and lower-middle income countries over two years, focusing on affordable treatments using existing medicines, nutraceuticals, and indigenous remedies. The initiative aims to benefit patients in these regions and strengthen local healthcare infrastructure. CWR has already funded successful trials, including a Phase 1 trial in Kenya for snakebite treatment, leading to a $5.4 million grant for a Phase 2B trial in Brazil and Ghana. Future trials will prioritize community engagement and local partnerships.
