Fitusiran is a small-interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic that lowers antithrombin (AT), a protein that inhibits blood clotting, thereby helping to increase thrombin generation and restore hemostasis in people with hemophilia, reducing the frequency of bleeding episodes.
Qfitlia (fitusiran) is indicated for routine prophylaxis to prevent or reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes in adult and pediatric patients (aged 12 or older) with hemophilia A or B with or without factor VIII or IX inhibitors (US FDA approval, March 28, 2025).
