- **What is PROMEZINE Syrup 5mg/5ml used for**
Promezine Syrup 5mg/5ml is used to treat the following conditions:
- As symptomatic relief in allergic conditions e.g. rashes, hives, hay fever
- Symptoms of cold and flu e.g. runny nose
- Nausea and vomiting
- Short-term sedation
- Contraindications
- **When not to use Promezine Syrup 5mg/5ml**
- The person taking the medicine is under 2 years of age.
- The person is unconscious (in a coma) or suffers from severe dizziness, drowsiness or headache.
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to promethazine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of Promezine Syrup 5mg/5ml.
- If you are taking a medicine for depression called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). Also do not take Promezine Syrup 5mg/5ml if you have stopped taking one of these MOAI medicines within the last 14 days. If you are not sure ask your doctor or pharmacist.
