Worldwide Clinical Trials, a global contract research organization (CRO), has announced its membership in WCG's Avoca Quality Consortium (AQC), signaling a strategic move to enhance clinical trial quality through industry collaboration and shared best practices.
The AQC comprises more than 200 life sciences organizations, including sponsors, CROs, clinical sites, and service providers, all working together to elevate clinical trial standards, improve efficiency, and reduce risks in the drug development process.
Kellie MacLeod, Executive Vice President of Global Quality Assurance at Worldwide Clinical Trials, emphasized that joining the AQC is part of the company's broader strategy to enhance customer success.
"AQC membership is part of our strategy to enhance our customers' clinical trials with top-tier quality and compliance," MacLeod stated. "The AQC's best practices and tools will help streamline our processes for faster outcomes while enabling us to stay ahead of regulatory changes to proactively manage risks."
She added that collaboration with industry leaders within the consortium would foster innovation, bringing improved methodologies to customers and strengthening partnerships.
Michelle Webb, Vice President of the Avoca Quality Consortium, Quality Solutions and Strategic Partnering at WCG, welcomed Worldwide Clinical Trials to the consortium, highlighting the importance of diverse stakeholder participation.
"WCG's Avoca Quality Consortium welcomes all stakeholder voices to the table, and we are thrilled to have Worldwide Clinical Trials join as a new member," Webb said. "Worldwide Clinical Trials, together with our other AQC members, bring important issues to light and sparks essential discussions on pivotal industry topics."
Webb emphasized that these collaborative efforts align with the AQC's mission to guide the clinical trial industry toward innovative solutions, quality improvement, and greater efficiency—all while maintaining patient-centricity.
Worldwide Clinical Trials brings significant expertise to the consortium with its comprehensive service offerings. The CRO specializes in several therapeutic areas, including neuroscience, oncology, rare diseases, and cardiometabolic and inflammatory conditions.
The company's global footprint spans over 60 countries with more than 3,500 team members. Its capabilities encompass bioanalytical laboratory services, Phase I-IV clinical trials, and post-approval and real-world evidence studies.
By joining the AQC, Worldwide gains access to shared knowledge, practices, and tools that can help elevate its clinical trial quality while driving efficiency and mitigating risk—ultimately benefiting sponsors and patients alike.
The Avoca Quality Consortium, now part of WCG, has established itself as a leader in improving quality and compliance in clinical trial execution. The organization integrates subject matter expertise with industry-leading approaches and technology to help companies build effective quality management systems.
This collaboration between Worldwide Clinical Trials and the AQC represents a significant step toward standardizing and elevating quality practices across the clinical research industry, potentially accelerating the development of new medications from discovery to market approval.
