Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) has named Dr. Michael Lyons as the Ravenel Boykin Curry chair in translational genomics and therapeutics. In this role, Dr. Lyons will lead the Precision Medicine Initiative at GGC, aiming to bridge the gap between research findings and tangible improvements in patient care across various conditions.
Dr. Lyons will also oversee GGC’s Genomic Discovery Program, directing clinical trials focused on refining and repurposing existing treatments. His responsibilities encompass contributions to GGC’s broader clinical, diagnostic, research, and educational initiatives, leveraging his extensive background in medical genetics and pediatrics.
Dr. Lyons is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, bringing a wealth of expertise to GGC. His appointment signifies GGC's commitment to advancing precision medicine and translating genomic research into clinical applications.
