The Ruby XL System represents a significant advancement in coil technology, with Ruby XL coils being 2X larger than Ruby 020 coils and 3X larger than conventional 035 coils. This increased volume per coil may lead to the use of fewer coils overall, potentially reducing radiation exposure during procedures.
Three-Component Technology Platform
The Ruby XL System introduces three distinct technologies that work together to provide comprehensive embolization solutions. All components can be delivered through a 0.035"+ diagnostic catheter and feature a primary diameter of .030", designed specifically for procedural efficiency.
The Ruby XL coil itself is engineered with a 3D complex shape and designed to frame aneurysms across various clinical applications. These coils offer substantial volume capabilities, with sizes up to 40mm and extended lengths reaching up to 70 cm.
POD XL features a hybrid, multistage design incorporating three-in-one coil occlusion technology. This includes an anchoring segment, a framing segment, and a dense filling segment. Specifically designed for high flow vessels, POD XL offers smooth delivery and targeted vessel control.
The Packing Coil XL incorporates innovative liquid metal wave shape technology, designed to adjust dynamically to vessel size requirements. This technology enables the coil to accommodate vessels with lengths up to 70 cm.

According to company data from May 2025, the Ruby XL System represents the largest and longest detachable embolization coil commercially available and is the only 035 packing coil currently on the market.
