Venus Remedies Limited has received World Health Organization (WHO) Good Distribution Practices (GDP) Certification for its Supply Chain Unit-II facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The certification was awarded by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), recognized as the world's foremost inspection, testing, and certification authority, following a comprehensive independent audit.
Digital Transformation in Pharmaceutical Logistics
The certification validates Venus Remedies' implementation of a 360-degree digital logistics model that represents a significant advancement in pharmaceutical distribution technology. The company has deployed IoT-enabled systems capable of monitoring critical shipment conditions including temperature, humidity, and location alerts in real-time throughout the distribution process.
"The WHO GDP certification is a strategic affirmation of our ability to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective medicines with precision, accountability, and transparency," said Saransh Chaudhary, President of Global Critical Care at Venus Remedies and CEO of Venus Medicine Research Centre. "Earned through a rigorous, independent audit, this recognition is a testament to our operational discipline, culture of continuous improvement, and the collective commitment of our teams to set new benchmarks for excellence in pharmaceutical delivery in India and globally."
Operational Efficiency Improvements
Venus Remedies has developed proprietary warehousing algorithms designed to optimize cartonization and shipping workflows. These technological innovations have resulted in measurable improvements to the company's distribution operations, halving delivery times while simultaneously reducing operational costs.
The company has extended its distribution capabilities by establishing a parallel online delivery system that reaches pharmacies and small retailers directly. This system incorporates real-time order tracking, digital payment reconciliation, and live customer support features, strengthening the company's market presence and customer engagement capabilities.
Comprehensive Quality Framework
The WHO GDP certification complements Venus Remedies' existing quality credentials, which include more than 25 Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certifications for its manufacturing facilities. The most recent GMP approval was obtained from Ukraine, demonstrating the company's international regulatory compliance capabilities.
"At Venus Remedies, we believe that quality assurance must be embedded into every layer of operations—from R&D to real-time delivery," said Peeyush Jain, Deputy Managing Director of Venus Remedies. "The WHO GDP accreditation validates our investment in cutting-edge logistics and reflects our strategic vision to be a globally trusted partner in healthcare."
The certification underscores Venus Remedies' adherence to international protocols across its end-to-end operations, from manufacturing through last-mile delivery. This comprehensive approach to quality management positions the company to meet global pharmaceutical distribution standards while maintaining operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
