Nevada King Gold Expands Atlanta Project with Promising Drill Results

9 months ago3 min read

Key Insights

  • Nevada King Gold Corp. has received approval for its Phase III regional drill program at the Atlanta Gold Mine Project, planning a 59-hole campaign.

  • Drilling at the Wild West Target (WWT) intercepted 4.32 g/t Au over 9.1m in hole AT24WS-84, extending mineralization 420m west of the Atlanta pit.

  • A second, more powerful drill rig is being mobilized to further explore the WWT, with plans to test the area up to 500m west of its current extent.

Nevada King Gold Corp. is advancing its Atlanta Gold Mine Project with promising drill results and the commencement of its Phase III drill program. Recent drilling at the Wild West Target (WWT) has intercepted significant gold mineralization, extending the known mineralized zone further west. The company has also received approval from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for modifications to its Plan of Operations, paving the way for further expansion of the project.

Drilling Highlights at Wild West Zone

Hole AT24WS-84, drilled at the WWT, intersected 4.32 g/t Au over 9.1 meters, including a section of 4.32 g/t Au over 9.1 meters. This intercept is particularly significant as it extends the high-grade gold mineralization 420 meters west of the Atlanta pit, representing the westernmost intercept of high-grade gold mineralization to date at the Atlanta Project. The hole bottomed in mineralization, encountering 10 meters of mineralized rock before the drill rig reached its maximum depth.
Cal Herron, Exploration Manager of Nevada King, noted that the WWZ is situated along a major east-west basement lineament, suggesting a favorable structural control for metals concentration. He added that the intersection of major structures in the WWT, combined with a strong CSAMT low resistivity zone, indicates a promising environment for gold mineralization.

Phase III Drill Program and Regional Exploration

Nevada King is mobilizing a Schramm 685 drill rig to further explore the WWT, with initial drill pads prepared to test the area up to 500 meters west of its current drilled extent. The company plans to conduct a 59-hole drilling campaign to explore 12 regional targets, including new road construction at the South Quartzite Ridge Target. This strategic expansion is part of Nevada King’s efforts to explore the district-scale potential of the Atlanta resource zone.
The recently identified WWT area is currently defined as 500 meters long in a north-south direction and 200 meters wide, remaining open to the west. The target is located on the west side of the West Atlanta Fault #2 (WAF2) in an area previously thought to be unmineralized, but where recent drilling has revealed thick, high-grade mineralization extending well west of the Atlanta Resource Zone.

Atlanta Gold Mine Project Overview

The Atlanta Mine is a historical gold-silver producer with a NI 43-101 compliant pit-constrained resource of 460,000 oz Au in the measured and indicated category (11.0M tonnes at 1.3 g/t) plus an inferred resource of 142,000 oz Au (5.3M tonnes at 0.83 g/t). Nevada King Gold Corp. is focused on expanding this resource through continued exploration and drilling programs.
