Sage represents a significant advancement in AI-powered healthcare, specifically targeting patients with complex physical, behavioral, and social needs who drive the majority of healthcare costs. Unlike traditional AI voice assistants, Sage demonstrates emotional intelligence by adjusting its tone and approach based on a patient's emotional state and mental health needs, ensuring higher levels of engagement and behavior change.
The platform leverages Ellipsis Health's proprietary Empathy Engine, built on patented vocal biomarker technology and trained on millions of live clinical patient calls. This foundation enables Sage to provide emotionally intelligent, context-aware support even for the most complex patients.

The healthcare industry has long relied on phone conversations with clinicians for between-visit care, supporting triage, care coordination, disease management, and case management. However, staffing shortages, burnout, and increasing patient complexity have made it increasingly difficult to scale these programs effectively while maintaining quality.

Sage integrates seamlessly with existing clinical operations through Salesforce's Health Cloud workflow engine.
