Abivax SA reported a net loss of 165.9 million Euros for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with 100.8 million Euros in the prior-year period. The clinical-stage biotechnology company, which develops therapeutics for chronic inflammatory diseases, ended the half with 402.4 million Euros in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments. Combined with 767.1 million Euros in net proceeds from its July public offering, Abivax expects the funds to support operations into the fourth quarter of 2029.
The lead candidate obefazimod (ABX464) is an investigational oral therapy in Phase 3 trials for moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (搜索), and is also being developed for Crohn's disease (搜索). Abivax plans to submit an NDA for obefazimod in ulcerative colitis by the end of 2026 and will present at United European Gastroenterology Week in October 2026. Topline results from the Phase 2b ENHANCE-CD induction trial in Crohn's disease are anticipated in the middle of 2027.
Abivax also announced corporate appointments effective immediately. Chris Rabbat, who has led Global Medical Affairs since 2023, will succeed Fabio Cataldi as Chief Medical Officer when Cataldi leaves the company in the fourth quarter of 2026, and Tim Kelly was appointed Chief Technical Officer to lead commercial supply readiness along with the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls, Quality and Information Technology functions.
