In a significant move to strengthen infectious disease preparedness and response capabilities, Shionogi & Co., Ltd. and Osaka Metropolitan University announced the signing of a comprehensive collaboration agreement on March 3, 2025. The partnership focuses on advancing information sharing, research technology, and human resource development in the field of infectious diseases.

The new agreement expands upon ongoing joint initiatives between the two organizations, including the development of next-generation diagnostic technologies for acute respiratory infections and the establishment of a clinical research network.
