BioCorteX Partners with CD Biopharma to Accelerate Precision Immunotherapy Development Using AI-Driven Platform
核心洞察
BioCorteX (搜索) has entered a strategic partnership with Chinese biotech CD Biopharma (搜索) to accelerate development of precision immunotherapy drugs targeting solid tumors including lung and breast cancer.
The collaboration leverages BioCorteX (搜索)'s Carbon Mirror technology, which enables in silico drug testing to optimize development routes across different tumor types and geographic regions.
CD Biopharma (搜索)'s lead candidate CD-001 has received IND approvals from both FDA and China's NMPA, with first-in-human trials currently underway for advanced solid tumors.
BioCorteX (搜索), a UK-based tech bio company, has announced a strategic collaboration with Chinese biotech firm CD Biopharma (搜索) to accelerate the development of next-generation precision immunotherapy drugs targeting solid tumors such as lung and breast cancer. The partnership combines BioCorteX's computational drug development platform with CD Biopharma's proprietary Bispecific Fusion Protein technology.
Carbon Mirror Technology Enhances Drug Development Success
The collaboration centers on BioCorteX (搜索)'s Carbon Mirror platform, which enables in silico drug testing to chart optimal development pathways across tumor types, regions, and patient populations. "Our technology offers CD Biopharma (搜索) and others a capability no other company can: Our Carbon Mirror technology allows us to test drugs in silico and chart the optimal route to success across tumour type, regions, geographies, and communities of people," said Nik Sharma, Co-Founder and CEO of BioCorteX.
The platform addresses a critical challenge in drug development by helping companies avoid failures when trials are conducted in different geographic regions. "Our platform helps de-risk assets that can fail when trialled in different geographies. There is only one shot at a real-world trial, and we believe that Carbon Mirror can help companies with exciting early clinical data looking to out or in-license to different geographies," Sharma explained.
CD Biopharma's Precision Immunotherapy Platform
Founded in 2021, CD Biopharma (搜索) has emerged as an innovative force in precision immunotherapy through its proprietary Bispecific Fusion Protein platform. The company's approach targets specific cells to precisely tune immune responses, offering therapeutic strategies across oncology, viral infections, and autoimmune diseases.
"This alliance with BioCorteX (搜索) represents a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionize immunotherapy," said Dr. Alan Xu, CEO of CD Biopharma (搜索). "Their expertise in in silico drug development, combined with our cutting-edge precision immunotherapy platform, creates a powerful synergy that will accelerate our path to bringing life-changing treatments to patients worldwide."
CD-001 Advances Through Clinical Development
CD Biopharma (搜索)'s lead program, CD-001, has achieved significant regulatory milestones with Investigational New Drug (IND) approvals from both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for advanced solid tumor indications. The First-in-Human (FIH) solid tumor trial is currently underway.
The BioCorteX (搜索) platform will specifically support CD-001's development by testing the candidate across different geographic contexts. "We have the ability to test candidates like those on CD Biopharma (搜索)'s Bispecific Fusion Protein platform, including its leading clinical candidate, CD-001, and then help the company increase the probability of success of CD-001 across geographies," Sharma noted. "That knowledge de-risks development, unlocking value."
Addressing Industry-Wide Development Challenges
BioCorteX (搜索)'s technology addresses the pharmaceutical industry's low success rates and high development costs. The company aims to improve the current 4% success rate in drug development and reduce the $244 billion spent annually across the industry. While immune-oncology serves as the initial focus area, BioCorteX plans to expand into multiple therapeutic areas.
The Carbon Mirror platform uses a "right-first-time" approach adapted from aerospace engineering to increase clinical success rates by uncovering drug-bacteria interactions and determining compatibility across drug development phases. This foundational emulator technology represents a shift toward computational drug development that could transform how therapeutics are developed and tested.
