Co-Diagnostics (search), Inc. (NASDAQ:CODX) announced it has entered into a joint venture agreement with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-based Arabian Eagle Manufacturing (search) to expand its molecular diagnostic technologies across the Middle East and North Africa regions. The partnership will focus on research, development, manufacturing, assembly, distribution, and commercialization of Co-Dx technologies, including the company's upcoming Co-Dx PCR point-of-care platform, across Saudi Arabia and 18 other countries in the territory.
The molecular diagnostics company, which operates a patented platform for developing molecular diagnostic tests, stated that the agreement aligns with key pillars of Saudi Vision 2030, supporting technology localization, industrial diversification, and healthcare innovation. Financial terms of the joint venture were not disclosed.
Strategic Partnership Structure
Under the joint venture agreement, Arabian Eagle will contribute local operational and customer support, lead the setup of manufacturing facilities, handle regulatory clearance and registration responsibilities, manage logistics activities, and ensure local compliance. The Saudi partner believes that initially pursuing regulatory clearance with the Saudi Food & Drug Administration (search) will directly facilitate entry into many other countries in the territory.
Co-Diagnostics (search) will provide an exclusive license to use, manufacture, and commercialize the licensed intellectual property, similar to the company's existing partnership in India with CoSara Diagnostics Pvt Ltd (search). The licensing agreement will include the upcoming Co-Dx PCR platform (search) as well as the company's existing suite of lab-based PCR diagnostic products.
PCR Platform Development
The Co-Dx PCR point-of-care platform is currently in preparation to begin clinical evaluations before the end of 2025 in various jurisdictions. Infectious disease tests planned for the new platform include tuberculosis (search) diagnostics, an 8-type HPV (search) multiplex test, and an upper respiratory multiplex test for influenza A (search) and B, COVID-19 (search), and RSV (search).

Market Expansion Strategy
Egan noted that Saudi Arabia has published key demand drivers that underpin anticipated growth in the medical device and diagnostics sector. "We believe that our cutting-edge PCR technology, along with the scope and mission of CoMira, addresses those drivers while reinforcing our resolve to close the accessibility gap between high-quality PCR diagnostics and those who need them," he stated.
The partnership represents Co-Diagnostics (search)' continued international expansion strategy, building on its existing joint venture model that has been implemented in other markets. The company recently completed a $10 million registered direct offering with institutional investors to support its growth initiatives.
Co-Diagnostics (search) shares were trading up 2.62% at $0.35 during premarket trading following the announcement, though the stock remains near its 52-week low of $0.22.
