The appointment, announced October 2, 2025, brings over two decades of pharmaceutical industry expertise to the Montreal-based company.
Extensive Industry Experience
Dr. Lambermon brings a comprehensive background spanning pharmaceutical R&D, biotech innovation, and commercial manufacturing. His career includes leadership positions at major pharmaceutical companies, where he developed expertise in building and leading Quality organizations across the full drug development lifecycle.
At AbbVie Inc. and Baxter Healthcare (search) in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Lambermon led global Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) programs, supervised supplier and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) qualification and oversight, and implemented GMP-compliant quality systems. Earlier in his career, he supervised Quality Control operations supporting FDA-regulated manufacturing at NantPharma (search) and Monosol Inc. (search)
Dr. Lambermon also contributed to the development of adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapies at Arthrogen BV (search) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, adding gene therapy expertise to his pharmaceutical manufacturing background.

Academic Credentials and Compensation
Dr. Lambermon holds a PhD in Cellular Biology from the University of Basel, Switzerland, and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Toronto and Radboud University in The Netherlands. He earned his BSc and MSc in Organic and Biochemistry at the University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
As part of his appointment, Defence Therapeutics (search) granted Dr. Lambermon 100,000 incentive stock options under the company's Omnibus Incentive Plan. The options are vested immediately and exercisable at $0.80 per share for a period of three years from the date of grant.
