Novel Therapeutic Approach Targets Cancer Vulnerabilities
Delphia's activation lethality platform represents a departure from traditional cancer (搜索) treatment strategies. Rather than suppressing oncogenic signaling pathways, the approach focuses on leveraging cancer cells' dependence on these pathways by pushing them beyond survivable thresholds. This mechanism aims to target cancers through approaches distinct from conventional pathway inhibition models.
The platform is positioned as both a standalone therapeutic approach and a potential strategy for addressing treatment resistance in precision oncology markets where patients frequently cycle through multiple targeted therapies over time. The appointment comes as oncology drug developers increasingly search for new strategies capable of overcoming resistance patterns that often emerge with existing targeted therapies.

Extensive Oncology Development Experience
Kerstein brings substantial experience in oncology drug development across early- and late-stage precision oncology programs. He most recently served as chief medical officer of IDRx (搜索), a clinical-stage precision oncology company, before its acquisition by GSK in 2025. Prior to joining IDRx, Kerstein was chief medical officer of Theseus Pharmaceuticals (搜索), Inc., and before that, chief medical officer of Anchiano Therapeutics (搜索) Ltd.
His earlier career included senior medical director roles in oncology clinical research and lung cancer (搜索) clinical portfolio strategy at Takeda Pharmaceutical (搜索) Company Limited and senior medical director of clinical research at ARIAD Pharmaceuticals (搜索), Inc., which was acquired by Takeda in 2017. At ARIAD, he led the clinical development of ALUNBRIG, a targeted therapy used in lung cancer treatment.
Kerstein also served as director of clinical development and regulatory affairs at Boston Biomedical, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co. Ltd. His experience spans both early-stage translational oncology development and later-stage clinical execution, combining translational research with regulatory strategy and oncology portfolio management.
Strategic Positioning for Clinical Development
The hire reflects Delphia's broader transition from platform validation toward more operationally intensive clinical development activities, including trial design, biomarker strategy, regulatory engagement, and potential combination therapy planning. Kerstein's background in precision medicine trial designs and regulatory pathways positions the company for this critical phase.
Delphia's scientific approach aligns with growing interest across oncology research in exploiting cancer (搜索)-specific stress responses and adaptive survival mechanisms rather than relying solely on direct inhibition of tumor-driving mutations. The company is backed by several major life sciences investors including GV, Nextech Invest, Polaris Partners, Alexandria Venture Investments, and Taiho Ventures.
Kerstein holds an M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine and received a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University.
