According to the company, C1 can progress from receipt of a codon-optimized viral gene sequence to purified recombinant antigen or monoclonal antibody in approximately 15 days. In practical terms, C1 can move from a frozen vial to completion of upstream fermentation in as little as 9 days, compared with up to 50 days for conventional mammalian systems.
Because C1 is a non-mammalian production platform, it does not require the same viral clearance processes associated with mammalian cell manufacturing, potentially reducing both manufacturing time and cost. The platform utilizes lower-cost chemically defined media and is compatible with existing microbial fermentation infrastructure. Studies conducted by multiple independent groups have demonstrated that monoclonal antibodies (search) produced using C1 can bind and neutralize their targets in a manner virtually identical to antibodies produced in mammalian systems, while delivering higher grams-per-liter-per-day productivity.
Ebola Preparedness Drives Three-Track Strategy

This initiative highlights the potential application of Dyadic's C1 platform beyond vaccine antigen production and into scalable monoclonal antibody manufacturing.
Beyond Pandemic Preparedness: A Multi-Market Strategy
While infectious disease preparedness provides a high-profile use case, Dyadic is pursuing a diversified commercialization strategy spanning multiple markets. The company's C1 and Dapibus platforms are being developed to support recombinant protein production across biopharmaceutical and pandemic preparedness, life sciences and biomanufacturing, food, nutrition and wellness, and industrial biotechnology.
Recent commercial milestones include the launch of recombinant human albumin through Proliant Health & Biologicals, commercialization of recombinant DNase I through Fermbox Bio, global distribution activities through IBT Bioservices, and commercialization of recombinant bovine chymosin through Inzymes.
