Elephas Biosciences and Mithrl Combine Real-Time Tumor Profiling with AI to Advance Immunotherapy Response Prediction
核心洞察
Elephas Biosciences (搜索) has partnered with AI company Mithrl (搜索) to integrate real-time tumor profiling with artificial intelligence for discovering novel immunotherapy response signals.
The collaboration combines Elephas' elive™ platform, which captures cytokine responses from live tumor biopsy fragments, with Mithrl (搜索)'s Scientific Decision Engine for autonomous multi-step analyses.
The partnership aims to address the critical challenge that only 1 in 5 patients currently respond to immunotherapy, with new data being presented at the 2026 AACR Annual Meeting.
Elephas Biosciences (搜索) Corporation has announced a scientific collaboration with artificial intelligence company Mithrl (搜索) to integrate functional tumor profiling with AI-driven analysis, establishing a foundation for more scalable discovery of novel immunotherapy response signals. The partnership combines Elephas' elive™ ex vivo tumor profiling platform with Mithrl's Scientific Decision Engine (SDE) to address the critical challenge that currently only 1 in 5 patients receiving immunotherapy obtain a response.
Real-Time Tumor Profiling Technology
The Elephas elive™ platform captures real-time cytokine responses from live tumor fragments obtained through core needle biopsies. This approach preserves the native tumor microenvironment and applies novel treatment methods to address tumor heterogeneity, enabling real-time characterization of immune response. When paired with Mithrl (搜索)'s SDE, the platform enables autonomous design and execution of multi-step scientific analyses under rigorous controls.
"Partnering with Mithrl (搜索) enables us to more fully leverage the richness of our functional profiling data and showcase the power of Agentic AI," said Hinco Gierman, CSO of Elephas. "By integrating these data with external datasets, we're incredibly impressed with the speed at which Mithrl is able to generate novel insights that can better understand the biology of response and generate insights that may help guide translational research and therapeutic development."
Addressing Critical Unmet Medical Need
The collaboration targets a significant healthcare challenge, as cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide with patient numbers projected to triple by 2060. Despite the significant increase in available immunotherapies, many patients who may respond are not eligible for therapy due to the lack of accurate predictive biomarkers.
Vivek Adarsh, Co-Founder and CEO of Mithrl (搜索), emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership: "Collaborating with Elephas allows us to pair their unprecedented real-time tumor profiling from live tumor biopsies with Mithrl's SDE to unlock deep biological insights that would otherwise remain elusive or take months to surface. I believe this combination exemplifies the future of translational research."
Scientific Presentation and Data
The companies will co-present new data from their collaboration at the 2026 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting. The poster presentation, titled "Multi-agent-augmented analysis of PD-1 (搜索) checkpoint inhibitor response" (Abstract #5695), is scheduled for April 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM PST in Section 40.
Technology Integration and Industry Impact
Mithrl (搜索)'s Scientific Decision Engine addresses current inefficiencies in drug discovery, where scientists typically wait an average of 60 days between experiments while dealing with fragmented data and analyses that cannot be reproduced. The biopharma industry spends over $250 billion annually on R&D, yet new medicines still require 10+ years and $2.6 billion to reach patients, with 90% of clinical candidates failing.
The integration of real-time functional tumor profiling with multi-modal data analysis represents a significant advancement in the ability to generate biologically meaningful insights more efficiently, potentially accelerating the development of personalized immunotherapy approaches and improving patient outcomes.
