The region offers ready access to utilities, transportation, and favorable zoning and incentives.
Lilly plans to implement state-of-the-art technologies throughout the facility, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, digitally integrated monitoring systems, and advanced data analytics to drive right-first-time execution. Digital automation will be embedded throughout the site to streamline operations and ensure a reliable supply of safe, high-quality medicines.

The facility is expected to create approximately 450 jobs, including positions for engineers, scientists, operations personnel, and laboratory technicians. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the project expected to have a positive impact for generations of residents in the region.

Broader U.S. Manufacturing Expansion
This announcement represents the third of four new U.S. sites Lilly plans to establish, bringing the company's total U.S. capital expansion commitments to more than $50 billion since 2020. Earlier this year, Lilly announced plans to build sites in Texas and Virginia and to expand an existing manufacturing site in Puerto Rico, with another U.S. location to be announced in the coming weeks.
The expansion reflects Lilly's broader strategy to bolster domestic medicine production across therapeutic areas, particularly as the company advances treatments for diabetes (搜索), obesity (搜索), Alzheimer's disease (搜索), immune system disorders, and cancer (搜索).
