Enterome SA has appointed Dr. Mehrdad Mobasher, a prominent hematologist-oncologist and former Chief Medical Officer at BeiGene (search), to its Board of Directors as the clinical-stage company advances its OncoMimics (search) immunotherapy platform through Phase 2 trials. The appointment strengthens ties with the Institute for Follicular Lymphoma (search) Innovation (IFLI (search)), which invested up to $9 million in Enterome's recent funding round and where Dr. Mobasher serves as Executive Partner.
Strategic Leadership Addition
Dr. Mobasher brings over 15 years of leadership experience in global drug development and commercialization to Enterome's board. Most recently serving as Chief Medical Officer at BeiGene (search), he led the hematology portfolio and global launch of zanubrutinib in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (search) and follicular lymphoma (search). His previous roles include Global Head of Oncology Development at Zai Lab, Chief Medical Officer at Corvus Pharmaceuticals, and Group Medical Director at Genentech, where he spearheaded the development and launch of landmark oncology programs including venetoclax and obinutuzumab.

OncoMimics Platform Advances
Enterome's OncoMimics (search) represent a new class of off-the-shelf, multi-targeted in vivo immune therapies designed to induce rapid and potent expansion of memory T-cells (search) to fight cancer. The company's pioneering approach utilizes a bacterial Mimicry drug discovery platform that identifies OncoMimics with high similarity to tumor-associated antigens (search) based on big-data insights from millions of gut bacterial proteins.
The company has reported encouraging clinical results across multiple cancer types. In December, Enterome presented positive updated Phase 2 interim data from two cohorts of patients with low tumor-burden follicular lymphoma (search) for its lead OncoMimics (search) immunotherapy EO2463. The therapy also secured FDA Fast Track designation for the watch and wait setting in follicular lymphoma in October.
