The agency granted orphan drug designation for soft tissue sarcoma (搜索) and fast track designation for osteosarcoma (搜索), according to Ligachem Biosciences.
The candidate now holds both orphan drug and fast track designations for each of the two indications. It previously received orphan drug designation for osteosarcoma (搜索) in May and fast track designation for soft tissue sarcoma (搜索) in August. The FDA offers these designations to support development of treatments for rare diseases and areas of high unmet medical need, with incentives intended to strengthen regulator communication and speed development.
SOT106 targets LRRC15 (搜索), a protein expressed in patients with various sarcomas, and is the first candidate SOTIO (搜索) has produced under the ConjuAll (搜索) platform license signed in 2021, which gave SOTIO global development and commercialization rights to multi-target ADC therapies. Preclinical studies showed the candidate suppressed tumor growth in osteosarcoma (搜索) and soft tissue sarcoma (搜索) with strong tolerability, and SOTIO plans to begin the first human trial this year.
