"This is a healing environment that is good for many people, but again, is it for everyone? No. Right? Not everyone likes to hunt, or fish or be outdoors," Swire explained.

Swire shared his personal experience with ketamine therapy, a similar form of treatment that uses psychoactive substances for mental health conditions. "It wasn't a bad experience, but it was not an experience I enjoyed. So, because of that I said this is not how I want to feel, or this is not how I want to address my problem," he said.
Despite his personal experience, Swire acknowledges that such treatments could work for others and that having more resources available for struggling veterans is beneficial, provided proper research is conducted.

Veterans advocates stress the importance of thorough research and informed decision-making regarding psychedelic treatments. "Just do your research. Don't take anyone's word. Do your own research. Make sure you understand what you're going into and what to expect the best you can," Swire advised.
