The FDA issued a warning letter on September 23, 2026 to Empower Clinic Services, LLC, doing business as Empower Pharmacy (搜索), for producing adulterated, misbranded and unapproved drug products in violation of federal law, according to a statement from the Partnership for Safe Medicines (搜索).
Partnership for Safe Medicines (搜索) executive director Shabbir Imber Safdar said the warning was welcome and overdue, noting that the deadline for compounders to stop mass producing GLP-1 (搜索) drugs has long passed. He said compounders, telehealth platforms and med spas continue to sell unauthorized versions of injectable medicines.
The statement highlighted one finding as the most consequential: prescriber determinations that appeared verbatim across hundreds of patient records, described as copy-pasted language pre-loaded for selection rather than written for an individual patient. The group said the FDA made clear this does not meet the bar for prescribing a compounded drug, and that the same model underpins the compounded peptide market, the med-spa injection industry and the telehealth platforms supplying them. The organization called on the FDA to follow the letter with seizures and injunctions where warranted, and on Congress to close policy gaps.
