Pulmonary hypertension (搜索) represents a significant global health challenge, affecting approximately 82 million people worldwide across multiple disease forms. The progressive, life-shortening disease is characterized by high blood pressure in the lungs, with early symptoms including breathlessness, fatigue, and chest pain that eventually lead to heart failure (搜索). Despite the substantial patient population, treatment options remain limited, and the five-year survival rate is only around 50%.

The $950 million cash acquisition is subject to customary regulatory clearances under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act in the US and the Competition Act in Canada, along with a filing under the Investment Canada Act. In the US, the addressable patient population for PAH and PH-HFpEF is approximately 100,000 people, representing a substantial commercial opportunity for the combined entity.
