The platform is now available and features enhanced 3D color-coded visualization of plaque type, volume, and distribution to support clinical decision-making.
Enhanced Algorithm Performance
The updated algorithm demonstrates a 21% improvement in plaque detection compared to the first-generation version, providing clinicians with greater confidence in CAD diagnosis and management. HeartFlow Plaque Analysis (搜索) remains the only FDA-cleared, AI-powered plaque quantification tool with a reported 95% agreement with the gold standard intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), using blinded core lab adjudication.

Expanded Dataset and Clinical Evidence
The enhanced nomogram is powered by data from approximately 273,000 patients, representing a dataset 9x larger than any current plaque quantification study. This extensive database enables the platform to provide clinicians with an intuitive visual representation of plaque types, facilitating rapid assessment of CAD location and severity.
Recent clinical evidence from the DECIDE Registry demonstrated that HeartFlow Plaque Analysis (搜索) led to medical management changes in over 50% of patients beyond coronary CTA alone, resulting in an expected 15% event reduction.
Insurance Coverage Expansion
Cigna has announced that HeartFlow Plaque Analysis (搜索) will be covered across all of its lines of business, including Commercial and Medicare Advantage plans, beginning in October. This makes Cigna the second national insurer to update its policies to cover HeartFlow Plaque Analysis, following a similar decision by UnitedHealthcare (搜索).
