Strategic Focus on Neuro-Oncology
Lotus Neuro (搜索) will initially concentrate on clinical neuro-oncology programs, specifically targeting glioblastoma (搜索) and diffuse midline gliomas (搜索). The company will simultaneously advance pre-clinical development and partnerships in neurodegeneration applications. This focused approach builds on Insightec's recent clinical achievements, including a multicenter glioblastoma trial published in The Lancet Oncology that demonstrated significantly improved overall survival when focused ultrasound was used to temporarily open the blood-brain barrier (搜索) during standard-of-care chemotherapy.

Leadership and Funding Structure
Dr. Arjun (JJ) Desai has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Lotus Neuro (搜索). Desai previously served as Chief Strategic Innovation Officer at Insightec since 2018, where he developed global market access, reimbursement, medical affairs and research infrastructure for therapeutic delivery with focused ultrasound across multiple neurologic indications. Before joining Insightec, he held executive positions at Johnson & Johnson Innovation and completed his medical training at Stanford University.
The spin-out is funded by Nexus NeuroTech Ventures (搜索), which specializes in advancing technologies for brain disorder diagnosis, treatment and management. "Lotus Neuro (搜索) exists to make effective, brain-targeted therapies a reality," Desai stated. "By uniting the precision of focused ultrasound with the most promising therapeutics, we're opening new pathways for the treatment of complex brain disease."
Platform Integration and Collaboration
Insightec will maintain its leadership in device innovation and commercialization while supporting Lotus Neuro (搜索) through advanced therapeutics platform integration, scientific collaboration and shared translational data. The parent company's Exablate Neuro platform uses MRI-guided focused sound waves to treat patients with medication-refractory essential tremor (搜索) and Parkinson's disease (搜索), with recent approvals for staged bilateral treatment protocols.
The focused ultrasound platform has reached what the company describes as a pivotal inflection point, with validated safety profiles, global adoption and growing pharmaceutical engagement. To date, more than 25,000 patients have been treated with Insightec's Exablate technology across 210 centers worldwide for various movement disorder indications.
