Strategic Leadership Addition
Dr. Guyer brings extensive biotechnology leadership experience to Life Bio's board, with over 30 years in drug development as both a chief executive officer and venture capitalist. Currently serving as cofounder, president, and chief executive officer of EyeBio (搜索), a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc., Dr. Guyer has demonstrated a strong track record in developing and commercializing breakthrough therapies.

Dr. Guyer's expertise in ophthalmology aligns strategically with Life Bio's current focus on optic neuropathies (搜索). He developed and commercialized the first anti-VEGF (搜索) (vascular endothelial growth factor) drug for macular degeneration (搜索) as cofounder and CEO of Eyetech Pharmaceuticals. His experience includes taking two companies public, managing numerous mergers and acquisitions, and serving on over 25 company boards.
In July 2024, Dr. Guyer oversaw the sale of EyeBio (搜索) to Merck & Co., Inc., demonstrating his ability to create significant shareholder value. He previously served as professor and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at New York University School of Medicine and is currently a venture partner at SV Health Investors (搜索).
Innovative Therapeutic Platform
Life Bio's proprietary Partial Epigenetic Reprogramming (PER) platform utilizes three transcription factors—Oct4 (搜索), Sox2 (搜索), and Klf4 (搜索)—to restore older and damaged cells to a younger and healthier state. This approach targets aging at the epigenetic level, offering potential to address multiple age-related diseases across various organ systems.

Clinical Development Timeline

Concurrent with Dr. Guyer's appointment, Bracken Darrell stepped down from the Board of Directors, effective November 1, 2025. Darrell had served on the board since 2018, contributing leadership experience and strategic insight during his tenure.
