Lifecore Biomedical, Inc. (NASDAQ: LFCR), a fully integrated injectables contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), announced the signing of two new CDMO manufacturing service agreements with an existing U.S. biopharmaceutical customer. The customer, described as a publicly traded U.S.-based pharmaceutical company with multiple marketed products and an advancing pipeline, has entrusted Lifecore with both a commercial site transfer and a product expansion initiative.
The announcement, made during DCAT week, underscores Lifecore's accelerating momentum in securing high-value, late-stage manufacturing programs.
Commercial Site Transfer: Fourth Win in Five Months
The first agreement is a commercial site transfer under which Lifecore will assume manufacturing responsibilities for a currently marketed product previously produced by another CDMO. Although the agreement is with an existing customer, the product itself is new to Lifecore. The company will perform technical transfer services, including process performance qualification (PPQ) batches at commercial scale. Upon successful completion of all regulatory requirements, Lifecore will initiate commercial manufacture of the product.
This marks Lifecore's fourth commercial site transfer agreement signed in the last five months. "The commercial site transfer, which is the fourth we've signed in the last five months, is a testament to Lifecore's successful new commercial strategy and our prioritization of such transfer programs, which present a higher probability of approval than earlier stage development programs," said Paul Josephs, chief executive officer of Lifecore. "We believe this high-value program may start generating meaningful commercial revenue in 2028."
Expansion to a New Delivery System
The second agreement with the same customer provides for an expansion of existing services. Lifecore currently manufactures a commercial product for the treatment of ophthalmic-related diseases (search) in one format and will now begin manufacturing it in a second delivery system. This additional delivery modality is currently manufactured in Europe, and the transfer to Lifecore represents a geographic consolidation of the customer's supply chain.

Both programs are additive to Lifecore's high-value, late-stage pipeline and are expected to contribute to 2028 commercial revenue. Ryan Swanson, Ph.D., Lifecore's director of manufacturing science and technology, will participate in a panel discussion titled "The Tech Transfer Playbook: Right First Time Strategies" on May 19, 2026. The company will also host meetings with prospective customers at Booth G-1 to discuss process development and manufacturing services for injectables programs.
