The settlement includes a coalition of 48 states and territories, spanning from Alaska to Puerto Rico, all of which alleged that Glenmark artificially inflated prices on generic prescription medications that millions of Americans depend on for affordable healthcare.
"Generic drugs are supposed to be a more affordable alternative, and they are often a lifeline for Americans who rely on them," Fitch said in a statement. "We are holding the companies that kept prices artificially high accountable for taking advantage of families, and I encourage any Mississippian who thinks they may be eligible to register today."

The Glenmark settlement does not stand alone. It follows previous agreements reached with four other generic drug manufacturers — Lannett (search), Bausch (search), Apotex (search), and Heritage (search) — which collectively resulted in $66.95 million in settlements.
