Sotatercept is an activin signaling inhibitor that targets the underlying vascular remodeling processes driving PAH pathogenesis, distinguishing it from currently available vasodilator therapies that primarily address symptomatic vasoconstriction. The NICE appraisal evaluated sotatercept as an add-on therapy for patients whose disease remains inadequately controlled despite standard-of-care background treatment.
