"My last MRI scan showed a small decrease in size, which is incredible," Pepper said. "Being able to take this drug has given me a lot more benefits. I'm able to live a normal life and make memories with my little girl."
Pepper's tumor was discovered during a routine eye test that detected swelling behind her right eye. Following surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where surgeons removed most but not all of her tumor due to its location, she joined the vorasidenib trial and continues treatment.
NICE's Rationale for Rejection
NICE's draft guidance cited uncertainty in the economic data and a lack of clarity over whether vorasidenib improves overall survival chances as primary reasons for the rejection. The institute stated that "the available evidence does not suggest that vorasidenib is value for money in this population."
