Quantum BioPharma Ltd. has announced the appointment of Dr. Salvatore Napoli, MD, as Principal Investigator for its planned Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating Lucid-21-302 (Lucid-MS), an investigational therapy targeting demyelination (搜索) in Multiple Sclerosis (搜索) (MS (搜索)). The biopharmaceutical company intends to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the coming weeks.
Clinical Leadership and Expertise
Dr. Napoli brings extensive credentials to the program as an internationally recognized neurologist and key opinion leader in MS (搜索) with over 20 years of clinical and research experience. He serves as President and Medical Director of the Neurology Center of New England and the MS Center of New England, where he leads advanced clinical and research programs in MS. His background includes specialized fellowship training in MS and neuroimmunology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and academic appointments at Harvard Medical School.

Novel Therapeutic Approach
Lucid-MS represents a first-in-class, non-immunomodulatory, neuroprotective compound with a unique mechanism of action for MS (搜索) treatment. The patented New Chemical Entity (NCE) has demonstrated the ability to prevent demyelination (搜索) in preclinical models, targeting a hallmark of MS and other neurodegenerative diseases (搜索) characterized by damage to the myelin sheath (搜索) surrounding nerve fibers.
The planned Phase 2 trial will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of Lucid-MS in people with MS (搜索), subject to regulatory clearance of the IND application. The study design is included in the IND submission to the FDA.
