Superior Real-World Performance
The retrospective study evaluated 41 patients with advanced (unresectable or metastatic) melanoma who received commercial Amtagvi according to U.S. prescribing information at four authorized treatment centers. Beyond the impressive 44% physician-assessed confirmed objective response rate, the therapy achieved a 73% disease control rate, demonstrating substantial clinical benefit in this heavily pretreated patient population.
The analysis revealed a clear correlation between treatment timing and efficacy outcomes. Patients who received Amtagvi following two or fewer lines of therapy achieved a remarkable 52% response rate, compared to 33% for those treated after three or more prior therapies. Addressing Critical Unmet Need

Manufacturing and Treatment Process
Amtagvi represents a personalized immunotherapy approach, manufactured from each patient's surgically removed tumor tissue. Tumor-derived T cells are expanded at a specialized manufacturing center over approximately 34 days, ultimately producing billions of viable cells for infusion. The treatment requires hospitalization and involves lymphodepleting chemotherapy preparation, followed by intravenous infusion of the personalized cell therapy and subsequent IL-2 (aldesleukin) administration.
